    THE HORROR!

From so many books I reed and movies I have see. Horror is sweet feeling inside you, burn like a love, but my dear that is a fear, someone's he calling you, haunting you, he knows what you doing. You look again is gone but not is here and he kill's you.

"Edgar Allan Poe believed" true horror stems from the human mind, focusing on internal fears, madness, guilt, and obsession rather than external monsters, using psychological terror, unreliable narrators, and the uncanny to reveal the "beast within" and the fragility of reason. He explored how the mind creates its own nightmares, using senses and the body as sources of dread, and revolutionized horror by making the internal landscape terrifying.

"Stephen King views horror" as a way to process real-world fears, defining it through three types: the "Gross-Out" (physical revulsion), the "Unnatural" (chaos, the dead returning), and the deepest, "Terror" (the dread of loss or the unknown, like finding your home replaced). He emphasizes that effective horror relies on caring about characters, making the monstrous more impactful, and that we use fictional horrors to cope with actual, scarier realities.

Tim Burton’s relationship with horror is defined by an early childhood obsession with the genre that never truly scared him. He famously stated, "My parents told me that I used to watch horror movies before I could walk or talk," and added that he was "never afraid of them".

Silvia Moreno-Garcia views horror as a serious, versatile genre capable of tackling complex social issues like colonialism, racism, and gender, going beyond simple scares to explore dread, trauma, and societal anxieties, often using gothic or historical settings to subvert expectations and give voice to marginalized experiences, arguing it's a vital form of "social horror" for modern times. She sees it as a tool for exploring real-world fears, not just monsters, and challenges narrow definitions by highlighting works like Beloved as horror, aiming to create genuine dread and subversion.

"Yes, but how do you justify making a living exploiting peoples worst fears?"

The police are called by neighbor who heard a commotion. They find a bloodbath and something worse. The young man calmly admits that he killed his grandmother with o pipe and then slit her throat.

"I needed her blood, the man calmly tells the police. I am a vampire, without her blood I would have died."

(Danse Macabre, Stephen King, chapter 10)

The Horror! Inspired from Medusa! Poster, 2022.

~ Medusa, she was a beautiful woman who was raped,
by the god Poseidon in the temple, of the goddess Athena.
Athena, in turn, cursed Medusa, transforming,
 her beautiful hair into snakes
and giving her a petrifying gaze.
The earliest Greek accounts depict Medusa,
as a monstrous Gorgon from birth,
but a later Roman retelling by Ovid,
is the most popular version today.
Female Rage and Empowerment:
In contemporary culture,
Medusa has been reclaimed,
as an icon of female rage,
resilience, and power.
Her ability to turn men,
 to stone is reinterpreted,
 as a protective force
and a refusal to be objectified or silenced.
Transformation: Her story embodies,
profound transformation,
from a beautiful maiden to a monster,
and from a victim to a potent, enduring symbol.

~ Paradise Lost, album Medusa released 2017.
About the album, here’s no real meaning to it.
It’s not something, I would use in a song
and wouldn’t use as a title either. I liked the thought though.
When we were kids, Medusa was the scariest character we knew.
As I looked into it, I found a lot of different metaphorical,
 meanings that she represents.
There was one sentence,
I read which was ‘Attempts to avoid looking,
into her eyes represent avoiding the ostensibly,
depressing reality that the universe is meaningless’,
which made a lot of sense to me.
To me, this is what Medusa stood for.
There are many different interpretations,
but this was mine."
